Attention anyone eligible for PRC if you receive bills from already approved appointments please bring them to the clinic, to Tara Runnels or Cynthia Redwing as soon as possible. Please do not wait until you start receiving collection letters. If you are receiving the bills at home the clinic most likely is not getting a bill, therefore we do not know they are out there. Also if you’ve had labs or radiology done here at the Santee Health Center and receive bills from Quest or Avera Medical Group radiology those may be brought in as well.
A few other helpful reminders:
• A referral made for patients by our providers or ER visits, do not mean automatic payment of bill from the Santee Health Center, you must be approved or denied.
• Check with Donnie Pike regarding possible Alternate Resources (ex. Ex Medicaid) medical resources are always priority for payment.
• Always read all of your mail to make sure you are not about to fall off Medicaid or need to recertify, if you do need to recertify please do so immediately or contact Donnie Pike for assistance. Don’t Wait!
• PRC is payor of last resort so please follow through with the alternate resource requirements (ex. Medicaid) or it could be cause for denial.
• It is the patients responsibility to notify the Santee Health Center Cynthia, Tara or Tina of emergency visits within 72 hours and up to 30 days for elderly (65 and up) or disabled.
• If you are to unable to make contact, please make arrangements ahead of time for someone make contact for you.
• Please always have available and present other insurance information to registration offices when going to appointments or ER. IHS is not an insurance and is always payor of last resort.
• Always make sure all correct addresses, phones numbers and emergency contacts are up to date with the doctor’s offices and with our registrar Steve Moose.
• If you leave a message regarding an ER visit please leave the following information. Name of patient, facility you went to, date you went.
> Patients needing assistance for appointments need to contact the Santee Health Center at least 24 hours ahead of time (ex. Transportation, gas, hotel)
